Resource Recovery, Packaging and a Circular Economy

NZBC members are invited to join us for Part 3 of 3 of our 2021 Sustainability Forums!

Beverage producers are keen to ensure that their packaging is easily recyclable and can ensure product integrity, while reducing wasteful packaging throughout their supply chain. The beverage industry is also keen to see improved resource recovery to ensure that high value materials, like beverage containers, are collected and recycled properly.

The New Zealand Government is keen to move away from single-use plastics and other hard-to-recycle plastics that are polluting our environment, increasing resource recovery and moving Aotearoa towards a circular economy.

Resource recovery is all about using waste as an input material to create valuable products as new outputs, thereby reducing the amount of waste generated, need for landfill space, and optimising the values created from waste. Resource recovery and the shift by brands towards more sustainable and recyclable packaging will help Aotearoa towards a circular economy.

Join us to hear some great brand stories, challenges facing beverage producers, initiatives from the Government and how to identify and avoiding greenwashing. Drinks, canapes and networking to follow.
